[SOLVED] Installing .Net 4.8 Error Cannot Find Object or property. Error Code 0x80092004

Just thought I would give a question and answer here in hope it might help someone.

Installing .net 4.8 on a bunch of servers failed with "cannot find object or property".

Looking at the logs we see

Solution: if you look at the path provided and the file does exist then there is a good chance you already have .net 4.8 already installed... The reason for you going to run the installer is probably because one of the checks you performed to check if you already had 4.8 installed returned an incorrect value. I have seen this before where .net has been installed either through WSUS or SCCM or a third party software manager in the past, certain values in the registry and some other locations are not updated to reflect 4.8 being installed.
